I know it is tough finding people to help develop the gig calendar, which is unfortunate, because it is probably one of the nicest calendar/events components available for joomla/mambo.

I have used literally every calendar component available and of all of them gigcalendar is not only the most attractive, but also has the most potential.

What I would like to see most of all is the addition of "Categories." One other thing that would be really SWEET would be the ability to tie the gigcalendar to a content section/category.

I'm working on a site that features concert "series" and would like to be able to use the powers of the CMS to display the performance items as content items. The various modules and menu display options create many possibilities that do not exist within the gigcalendar component so perhaps the two could work together to achieve greatness without duplicating work.

I might suggest that if the project is having trouble finding participants, perhaps a visit to the Mambo forums might pique some interest. Mambo is trying to establish some "flagship" components, especially with the release of version 4.7 in the near future. Since everyone needs a calendar component and there are not any really good ones to pick from, it could be a way for gigcalendar to get the boost it needs.

Mark-
I'm intrigued by the Mambo flagship components suggestion. I wouldn't think that Mambo would be compatible with Joomla 1.5, is this correct? I bet there's some work-around. Tell us more!
