Take a look at my site.

I have an event on Jan 11, 2006.

From the mini GigCalendar, click on \'Jan 2006\'... the full calendar for Jan 2005 is displayed.

Try incrementing the year by clicking \'>>\'... still Jan 2005.
Try decrementing the year by clicking \'<<\'... Jan 2003 is displayed.

Try incrementing the month... the month advances BUT the year is decremented.
Try decrementing the month... BOTH month and year are decremented.

Try Jan 2006 from the dropdown list and click Go... still Jan 2005.
Try Jan 2007 from the dropdown list and click Go...  Jan 2006 is displayed.

Something is VERY WRONG.  HELP!!!

FYI, here\'s my setup, as reported by Joomla\'s System Info:

PHP 4.4.1
Apache 1.3.33
Joomla 1.0.5

Safe Mode:       OFF
Open basedir:    none
Display Errors:  ON
Short Open Tags: ON
File Uploads:    ON
Magic Quotes:    ON
Register Globals:OFF
Output Buffering:ON

Any ideas of what may have happened here?

Some random info, just in case it\'s relevant...
[ul][li]My host is PowWeb.[/li][li]Joomla 1.0.5 is bridged to SMF 1.1 RC2 using Orstio\'s Bridge 3.20.[/li][li]The only other component installed is joomlaXplorer 1.3.2[/li][/ul]It\'s been suggested that I uninstall/reinstall the gigCalendar component.  Since I\'m in the early stages and won\'t lose much info, I\'m going to try that and see what happens.  Will report back with results.

I uninstalled/reinstalled the component.  Still the same errors.  I also tried uninstalling/reinstalling the modules and uninstalling the other component JoomlaXplorer 1.3.2.  Nothing worked to solve my problem.

Any advice?

UPDATE:
I whacked the whole site and started fresh.  Did a fresh install of Joomla 1.0.5.  After installation, the only things I did were to install the 1 component and 2 modules of gigCalendar 1.0.2 and publish the 2 modules.  THE BUG IS STILL THERE. Sad

I\'ll continue developing my site, leaving gigCalendar in place.  I believe that eventually this bug will be tracked down and fixed.

I made a discovery.

This thread has been about my Joomla installation on host PowWeb.  For testing, I did a fresh Joomla + gigCalendar installation on a separate host HostGator.

The same problem occurs on 2 different hosts!
PowWeb installation
HostGator installation

So I think the problem is not with the host, but with the files I\'m using.  The files I\'m using are:[ul][li]com_gigcal-1.0.2.zip[/li][li]mod_gigcal_minical-1.0.zip[/li][li]mod_gigcal_upcom-1.0.zip[/li][/ul] Am I using the right files?  I got them from the Joomla! Developer project site.

I\'d recommend downloading the files again from the J!Forge Project Site. There have been no updates to the files you list but there have been reports of people downloading the files again and installing without issue.

To be clear: there are no problems with the currently available .zip files. We have heard from users that simply re-downloading the files has solved their problems so we are suggesting this as a solution to try. Good luck!

PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED!

Solution:  Set FTP client to upload files as BINARY.  My client was set to AUTO.

Oddly, my setup requires me to edit the index.php of my SMF forum template.  When I uploaded as binary, it failed.  So I had to switch back to auto.

My sanity has returned and I can go back to creating website content.  Thank you for trying to help.  Keep up the good work!

I’m having this same problem. However I'm not sure I understand the fix. Downloaded the software from SourceForge and used the upload tool in Joomla. I have tried several install/uninstall and tried both versions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trey -
Be sure to note that that post was from January of this year! The latest release is a BETA release and we're having trouble with the update features as you can see in the 1.1.x forum on this site. Sorry for the confusion, but 1.0.2 is the most recent STABLE version.

I'm sorry ... I've the same problem ... I've tried upload php files ( com_gigcal directory ) both binary and ASCII but the problem is still there.

I'm using gigCalendar 1.0.2 with Joomla 1.0.11

the site is in italian www.turkishtobacco.it

thanks for any kind of help
aL

update: I've tried a clear configuration of Joomla (1.0.8 ) + gigCalendar (1.0.2) in a local web server and the full calendar works ...
What could be the problem? The URL of the links on full calendar ( << and >> ) are right with the month and year but the displayed calendar is wrong

I seem to be in the same predicament with alberto. I've redownloaded the zip file 4 times and also tried to FTP the files in binary as well and still no go.

I've downloaded gigcal 1.0 from sourceforge, there doesn't seem to be any newer version.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

I've solved the problem !!!(again??  grin)

Download the php files for the component not from the zip files, but from the source here.
Solving the full calendar problem the php files of

[gigcal_main] / components / com_gigcal

are enough. Overwrite them on your site.
It seems work correctly.

greetings
