I checked out this thread, and it seems to have some pretty useful content. I myself run a web design company (small one) who caters specifically to the band/music/entertainment industry......so I need more threads like this!

LOL
I'm finding GiCalendar seems to be by far, the best option for me to handle Band Schedules. On one note....in the thread, the user who brought up the fact that he was making a band website, mentions a "Guestbook" on his site. My personal note on this would be that Guestbooks seem to be a useless, and dying thing. Personally, with all the connectivity and interaction that can be had using MySpace/Facebook/Twitter integration, Guestbooks are fairly pointless. They only make a band look bad....especially when you might only have 5 people who signed the guestbook.....and it looks even worse when the last person to sign it was like months or years ago. Personally, the navigation structure I use on my sites is some variation of:
MAIN LINKS:
"Home | About Us/Bio(s) | Schedule/Calendar | Photos | Media | Booking"
SECONDARY/SUPPLEMENTARY LINKS:
"Links | Contact Us"
ON AN AS-NEEDED BASIS:
"Store/Merchandise | Sponsors | Management"
I usually include MySpace/Twitter/Facebook links in a graphically presentation in the header of the site. Though this is just my personal preference.....I feel that this is the way most band sites are going now. For the most part, the bands I know and/or work with are mostly putting out dynamic contact and/or interacting with fans via the Social Networking sites.....and their websites are there mostly as a polished mouthpiece for the band.
