I am dealing with my client's webhost, Earthlink.  I called their support and asked them to change the php setting for magic quotes from off to on and they said they would ask an "engineer" about it and have him/her email me about it.

I did not hear back on that and so I went ahead and installed gigCal, while I waited to hear from my client about whether they would like to change webhosts.

It's working as far as I can tell.  The little hover boxes are not working but I don't consider those to be essential.

What else?

For "not a programmer" you do pretty well!

Thank you for the response.
